We arrived at our hotel! The Novotel, close to the Pasteur station in Paris, France.

The first thing Christian noticed on the way in was the graffiti. Not just any old graffiti, religious graffiti.

Little dark, but it basically translates to 'Jesus Saves'

After minimal research, Christian noticed that the 'Jesus Saves' graffiti is from a popular movement in the USA in the 1980s, reinforcing the power of Jesus Christ. Unfortunately Christian did not get many more pictures of this, but this was seen all over Paris and definitely caught my eye.

Well, once we arrived at the hotel we put our bags aside and went to explore the second most expensive city on Earth. Of course, typical tourists 📸 , we hit the Eiffel tower first. Here's a picture of us, and here's a picture of our professors taking a picture of us on one of the of most fascinating attractions in the world:

Aren't we a sweet group?

Both of us hopped on the double decker tour bus. We must admit, wow. Paris' unique charm and expensive lifestyle really showed itself. Christmas decor and fancy shops surrounded by golden buildings with wrap-around terraces💰. We saw many many great attractions on that bus.

We got off, got some Coffee, and headed up to the Arc de Triomphe at the end of the Champs-Élysées. Josh and Christian were mesmerized by the 17,000 euro Mink jackets and the armed men guarding the Rolex store.

Christian bought something cool for one of his parents 🤫

Afterwards, we all had dinner together. What a nice little place that was, wasn't it? That dessert was to die for, what exactly was that again?

Overall, Josh and Christian's first day and Paris was crazy😎. "Going to Paris for the first time I didn’t expect too much difference from a lot of other very large cities that I’d been to, but I was very surprised" Josh said.

We both agreed that the roads were not exactly what we thought they would be like with buildings popping up seemingly in the middle of them, which may explain some questionable driving and apparently very few traffic laws. Motorcycles and cars were whipping around corners, we were surprised to not see an accident 😲.

We both also mutually felt we could’ve spent the next month in Paris doing something new every night, but we both knew there’s many more good times and to come on this trip.
